HRI's New VP of Operations in Guyana
Holder Resources Inc. (HRI) proudly introduces Mr. Astell Collins as our Vice President of Operations – Guyana. Astell brings an extensive track record of leadership across private and public sectors, uniquely positioning him to guide HRI in its strategic expansion and sustainability initiatives within Guyana and beyond.
Astell, a proud Guyanese, has been integral to Guyana’s natural resource management. As a former Project Officer attached to the Minister of Natural Resources, he was pivotal in supporting critical initiatives related to the sustainable development of Guyana’s vast natural resources. His involvement with the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC), liaising with the Ministry and training management and staff, has provided him with invaluable experience and insights into the operational and regulatory landscape. Astell’s deep understanding of the local forestry and mining sectors will be critical to HRI’s success as we expand our footprint in sustainable resource management.
Mr. Collins expressed his enthusiasm about joining HRI, stating, "I am honored to partner with the team in their mission of sustainable timber harvesting. Guyana has a rich history of sustainable forestry, and I’m excited to contribute to a company shaping the industry's future. My experience as an administrator and my time with the Ministry of Natural Resources, where I was selected to go to China to attend a seminar on Sustainable Forest Management for Developing Countries, along with my interactions with the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, positions me to strategically support HRI’s goals and help bring them to fruition."
Astell has also been recognized for his contributions on a global stage, having served as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, Youth Advisor for the PANCAP Coordinating Unit (CARICOM), and as the Special Envoy Representative to the Government of Guyana on behalf of the United States Global Leadership Council. However, his work with Guyana’s Ministry of Natural Resources and GGMC makes him an invaluable asset to HRI, given the critical importance of relationships, governance, and local expertise in the natural resource sector.
With a career centered around transformational leadership and sustainable development, Mr. Collins is poised to bring innovative strategies to support HRI’s growth in sustainable resource management. His experience as an administrator and his strategic and tactical operational expertise align perfectly with HRI’s goals of fostering sustainable growth and creating value for our stakeholders.
We are confident that Astell’s vision, combined with HRI’s ambitious goals, will drive long-term growth, increase shareholder value, and solidify our reputation as a responsible natural resource management leader. His addition to the team marks a significant step forward in ensuring that HRI continues its journey toward global success.
