FBI Arrests 449 Child Predators, Rescues 224 Children in Two Nationwide Operations
In a sweeping show of force against child exploitation, the FBI has announced the successful conclusion of two major nationwide operations—Operation Restore Justice and Operation Soteria Shield—which together resulted in the arrest of 449 child sex offenders and the rescue of 224 children.
Operation Restore Justice, launched earlier this year under the FBI’s Crimes Against Children initiative, led to 205 arrests and the rescue of 115 children. The operation focused on identifying and apprehending individuals involved in the production, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse material, as well as those engaged in trafficking and exploitation.
Operation Soteria Shield, conducted by FBI Dallas in coordination with the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, added another 244 arrests and 109 rescues. This collaborative effort involved more than 70 law enforcement agencies working across multiple states.
According to the Department of Justice, both operations relied on a combination of digital forensics, undercover investigations, and intelligence coordination to dismantle networks targeting vulnerable children.
The results reflect the FBI’s ongoing commitment to protecting minors and holding predators accountable. Officials noted that efforts will continue nationwide, with ongoing partnerships between federal, state, and local agencies to combat crimes against children.
Deputy Director Dan Bongino, who took office earlier this year, praised the work of agents and partner agencies involved in the operations, highlighting the results as a top priority for the Bureau.
Law enforcement officials continue to urge the public to report suspected cases of child exploitation through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline or local authorities.
